The best month to visit is September,  San Diego beaches are less crowded at this time, and the weather is still fantastic.

Nighttime Zoo at the San Diego Zoo

Del Mar Racing Season

WHERE: Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

San San Diego horse racing takes place where the “turf meets the surf” at the Del Mar Racetrack.

Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the popular, annual Del Mar Racetrack racing season, mid-July – early-September.

Boarded! A New Pirate Adventure – Sail & Play

WHERE: Maritime Museum of San Diego
WHEN: September 3 | 10:30 AM & 12:45 PM

This hilarious interactive show puts visitors right in the middle of the pirate action.

Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills.

Performances are 90 minutes.

The Gentlemen’s Gourmet
